Join us for Hometown Hoops at Midland College on April 18 from 4 to 7 PM at the Chap Center. It’s a FREE community event hosted by the Midland College Alumni Network, and it’s all for a great cause.

Come hang out with the MC basketball teams, take your shot in dunk contests, 3-point and half-court challenges, and jump into some free play on the court. There’s something for everyone, including face painting, coloring stations, and a bounce house for the kids. We’ll also have food, vendors, and local businesses on site, so you can snack, shop, and explore while you’re here.

All proceeds from the evening support the Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship, helping Midland College students take the next step to a four-year university.

The world of artificial intelligence is touching every aspect of life, and none more than academia. In this webinar, we will explore how AI can be used effectively by students. We will answer questions like:
  • What is AI and how does it work?
  • When is it appropriate to look to AI for help with academics?
  • What kind of prompts will help me get what I really need from AI?
  • How do I vet what I get from AI so I know it's accurate?
  • How do I use AI and still learn what I need to in school?
  • Where can I get more help with using AI in conjunction with academics?
Come learn more about how to reconcile AI with education! This session is led by Tutor.com's Training and Development Team. We'll be holding a Q&A session after the presentation, so stick around at the end!

Step into a high energy night of retro pop funk and electronic sound as Midnight Generation brings their electrifying live show to Midland College.

The Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series presents an evening with rising international retro-pop funk band, Midnight Generation! The event is FREE; tickets are not required for General Admission seating.

ABOUT MIDNIGHT GENERATION

Midnight Generation — the breakout retro-pop, funk, and electronic band from Mexico — is bringing their signature sound and immersive live performance to Midland College. Known for blending nostalgic grooves with modern energy, the band has quickly risen on the international stage, selling out major venues and performing at top festivals across Latin America.

Fresh off a high-energy, fan-favorite debut at Austin City Limits, where their disco-driven sound was one of the most talked-about sets of the weekend, Midnight Generation delivers more than a concert — it’s an experience. With viral hits, millions of streams, and a rapidly growing global fanbase, expect vibrant visuals, infectious rhythms, and a sound that keeps you moving from the first note to the last.

Whether you're discovering them for the first time or already a fan, this is your chance to be part of something unforgettable.

One night. One stage. One electric atmosphere.
