The Midland College Chaparrals will host the Amarillo College Badgers in a 2-day/4-game series Friday-Saturday, April 5-6, 12 noon each day, at Christensen Stadium.
The baseball games are open to the public, and no admission is charged. Fans are encouraged to bring regreshments and snacks to Christensen Stadium and support the Chaparrals!

The Midland College Lady Chaparrals will host the Odessa College Wranglers in a double-header Friday, April 5, begining at 1 pm at the Softball Complex on the MC Main Campus.
The softball games are open to the public and no admission is charged. Fans are encouraged to bring refreshments and snacks to Lady Chaps Field and enjoy the Lady Chaparrals!
NOTE > It will be OC's turn to host the Lady Chaparrals in a double-header the following day, Saturday, April 6, beginning at 1 pm at the Wrangler Softball Complex, on the OC campus, Odessa, Texas.

The Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series presents "An Evening with Candice Millard," acclaimed and award-winning writer of narrative nonfiction. She is author of the New York Times bestsellers The River of Doubt, Destiny of the Republic, Hero of the Empire and River of the Gods. During her Midland presentation, Millard will discuss these stories of courage and determination, ambition and envy, genius and desperation, triumph and regret. She will expalin the elements of effective storytelling, detail her writing process and share stories from her own, often-harrowing, research trips.
Millard's book Hero of the Empire was named Amazon's number one history book of 2016. She lives in Kansas City with her husband and three children.
This event is FREE; tickets are not required for General Admission seating. Preferred seating and reception/meet and greet with Ms. Millard are available for Midland College Friends of the Series and Distinguished Donors ($1,000 minimum donation in 2024).

The Midland College Chaparrals will host the Howard College Hawks in a double-header Friday, April 12, 12 noon, at Christensen Stadium.
The MC History department invites all to this FREE event that covers subjects in a historical perspective and showcases community college and lower division branches of Texas colleges and universities. Presentations include traditional history, literature, archaeology, philosophy, political science, art and the teaching of these areas.
The symposium is free and includes complimentary light breakfast, lunch and a copy of the West Texas Journal of History.
The symposium and accompanying West Texas Journal of History are made possible through a generous endowment by Paula and Jim Henry.
History & Government Honors Student Poster Presentations
Each year, the West Texas Symposium of History invites honors students in both history and government at Midland College to participate in poster presentations. These posters are an opportunity for MC students to showcase their research skills and pursue their academic interests as they gain a deeper understanding of various political and historical topics. In addition to the physical projects that these students create, they must have a conversational knowledge about their topic, discussing it with MC professors, students, and community members.
This year’s prizes are as follows: 1st place - $300.00 2nd place - $200.00 3rd place - $100.00 Honorable Mention - $50.00
