In May 2024, Myanmar refugee Biak Tin Mang earned an associate degree from MC and graduated as the 2nd top student at ECHS@MC. In August, he will be attending UT Austin majoring in Engineering.

Midland College announces the upcoming enrollment deadline for its new Mental Health Technician Program -- the first of its kind in West Texas. The Midland College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Oestmann. Mr. Oestmann was sworn in by the Honorable Leah Robertson during the Board meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He will step into the role previously held by retiring Board member Paul Morris.

Paul L. Morris, Midland College Board of Trustees, Place 4, announced his retirement from the Board effective May 7, 2024. Mr. Morris has served as a member of the Board of Trustees since January 2016.

The University of Texas Permian and Midland College have entered into a partnership to address the growing need for teachers in our region. The MC to UTPB Education Pathway allows students to earn their associate degree at MC and then seamlessly transfer to UTPB to earn their Bachelor’s of Arts in Education. Students will be admitted early in their last semester of their associates’ program so they can transfer. This allows students to transition into their bachelor’s program quickly and effortlessly.

Marcus Avila overcame a palliative care diagnosis, extensive chemotherapy and two surgeries. Today he is a father, works full-time and attends Midland College.
