On November 9, Midland College held its annual Veterans Day Celebration, uniting veterans, families, and community members in honoring the service of military personnel. The event included inspiring speakers, heartfelt tributes to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, a 5K and fun run, as well as a job and resource fair tailored for veterans in the Permian Basin.

For over 30 years, Midland College has welcomed the community to its annual Holiday Evening, a cherished tradition celebrating the season with friends, family, and neighbors. This year, MC will continue the tradition on Thursday, December 5, with a festive, family-friendly evening filled with holiday activities -- all free and open to the public.

Felix Campos, Fidel Gardea de la Cruz and Royce Knight just graduated from high school this past May; however, thanks to MC's dual credit CTE program, they are already enjoying successful careers as diesel techs.

Midland College is proud to honor veterans with a special Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday, November 9, at 12 p.m. The event will take place on the MC campus, and the community is invited to join in recognizing the sacrifices and service of our nation's veterans. This year's featured speaker will be Dr. Jeff Struecker, a distinguished military veteran and motivational leader.

Throughout October, Midland College Cosmetology students are raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering pink hair extensions. Each extension costs $5 (cash only), with proceeds benefiting Permian Basin Gifts of Hope Midland, a local organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Midland College Business & Economic Development Center (BEDC) is excited to announce an upcoming Entrepreneur Interview featuring Michael Shapira, owner of Michael's Charcoal Grill. This engaging event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. in the Carrasco Room on the Midland College campus. Dr. Damon Kennedy, President of Midland College, will lead the conversation, exploring Shapira's journey of building a beloved local business and his experiences as a Vietnam veteran turned entrepreneur.

Midland College's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently hosted the First Generation, First-to-College Resource Fair, an event designed to provide guidance and inspiration for first-generation students. The fair featured student and faculty panels where attendees heard from first-generation students and professionals who shared their personal journeys and strategies for success.

Midland College, in partnership with Mil2Civ and Permian Warrior Partnership, is proud to host a special Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Themed "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service," the event will feature a 1-mile Fun Run, a 5K walk/run, a traditional veterans ceremony, a cake-cutting, and a resource and job fair for veterans across the Permian Basin.

Midland College announces the addition of Olivia "Liv" Garza as the new assistant coach for the Lady Chaps softball team. Garza joins the program with a strong background in collegiate softball, both as a player and a coach, bringing her passion and experience to the Lady Chaps for the upcoming season.
